Although the shapes of the Inner Circle plates appear playful and naive, the finish is stunning. “When you create a loose shape, you have to pay extra attention to the details,” says Maarten Baas. “Otherwise, a design looks sloppy and loses its appeal.”
Designer Baas contrasted the organic shapes with a subdued color palette. “When a chef serves a dish, he does so with great care, but avoids perfect geometry. There has to be a certain schwung to it. I designed the Inner Circle plates in the same way.”
