Designer Inge Bečka is a true virtuoso in working with porcelain. Every year Inge works for 2 months as an “artist in residence” in Jingdezhen (China), the world capital of porcelain.
The Saggar is a tulipvase, but of course it can also contain other flowers.
This particular vase is based on a traditional container that was used in China to protect the ceramic objects in the kiln and to keep the temperature stable. The saggars were stacked on top of each other in the oven, sometimes more than 3 meters high, in order to create multiple objects at the same time.
The individual parts can be stacked in any order. The saggars have 8 holes and the lid has 9 holes. You can fill them all with flowers, but it sure isn’t necessary.
This combination consists of 1 blue element, 2 natural elements, 1 flower element and a blue lid.
Vase element; blue and natural
